Editorial standards
How this report was checked
- Every headline figure is locked to the published export. The build compares the numbers in this report against the data files and refuses to publish the page if they disagree, so the text and the dataset cannot drift apart.
- Interpretive wording is written and reviewed by a person before a report is approved for publication. Figures are computed, never hand-typed.
- Reports are published after an update is added to the site. Updates are irregular rather than on a fixed weekly schedule, and every report states the dates it covers.
- Corrections are made on this page rather than quietly replaced. If a figure is restated, the change is listed below with its date.
Revisions
- Aug 17, 2026 Corrected. The per-category counts were computed against each product's most recent observation rather than the 1 August one, so a product observed again afterwards was left out entirely. Only products last seen on 1 August were counted, which understated every category: Pantry and Canned Goods showed 70 products observed and 2 changed, against 1,184 and 45. Category totals now reconcile with the 4,989 products observed and 127 changed reported by this edition. Rankings changed as a result; Produce is the highest rate at 15.8 per 100.
